Job Title:                           Tax Assistant (Graduate/School Leaver)

Location:                           Swansea

Guide Salary:                    £13,377.00 – £19,500.00 dependent on qualifications and experience

Reports To:                       Senior Executive Tax Manager

Staff Responsibility:       Mentor less experienced Assistants and Interns

Overview of position:    Responsibility to assist in the delivery all client’s projects. To demonstrate expected and acceptable behaviours in line with the Firm’s values and build positive relationships with clients and staff.

Key Deliverables:

Operational

  • Preparing personal tax returns,
  • Personal tax advisory work and research,
  • Corporation tax computations and assisting with research and development claims
    Dealing with correspondence to and from clients and the HMRC
    Preparation of P11ds
  • Assist with the preparation of VAT returns for review and submission to HMRC
  • Assist other Departments with assignments as required e.g., Payroll, Audit and Accounts
  • Carry out all aspects of work undertaken efficiently, thoroughly and in accordance with the firm’s procedures
  • Deliver information in a timely manner
  • Communicate to management progress on workload and plan for efficient completion
  • Communicate with clients in a positive and engaging manner
  • Carry out other tasks that may be assigned to you to support the Firm and your colleagues

  • Work with managers and L&D to ensure your training needs and are identified and met
  • Ensure lines of communication within the organisation are open are always transparent
  • Develop a professional and supportive approach to your fellow colleagues
  • Throughout your time with the firm, live our values in everything you do
  • Report to management on all assignments as required

  • Ensure that any identified training programmes are adhered to

You should be committed to undertaking a professional tax qualification ( ATT and/or potentially CTA) as a tax assistant for which you will receive full support and sponsorship by the Firm.
