The role could include the following, but roles can be tailored for experience and specialisms:

  • Undertake and support other staff with preparing year-end accounts for a wide range of companies, partnerships and sole traders.
  • Undertake and assist other staff with the preparation of management accounts.
  • Be a key part of audit teams undertaking assignments, ensuring each is undertaken in accordance with the pre-assignment instructions.
  • Prepare corporation tax computations and returns for small clients.
  • Prepare personal tax returns for small clients.
  • Manage the VAT process for your clients.
  • Carry out all aspects of work undertaken efficiently, thoroughly and in accordance with the firm’s procedures.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients.
  • Deliver information to the client promptly and within budget.
  • Manage client communication effectively.
  • Identify where there are shortfalls of work to cover chargeability and alert Managers.
  • Communicate to management progress on workload and plan for efficient completion.
  • Carry out other tasks that may be assigned to you to support the firm and your colleagues.

  • Strong IT and customer service skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including good presentation and report-writing skills

To meet our eligibility criteria, you will need:

  • Have sufficient practice-based audit and/or accounts experience
  • Be part-qualified ACCA/ACA
