Leading accountancy practice Bevan & Buckland has put their skills to the test at their inaugural corporate golf day. The event took place at Clyne Golf Club in Gower, and saw the practice, their clients, other organisations and three former Welsh internationals come together to raise money for a local charity. The event raised £1,000 for Tŷ Hafan, one of the UK’s leading paediatric palliative care charities. The Penarth based hospice provides essential care to children and support for their families throughout Wales.

“We were delighted to be able to hold our inaugural golf day in aid of Tŷ Hafan. As external auditors to Tŷ Hafan, we fully appreciate the tremendous work the hospice does and its reliance on fundraising. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and participants, we’ve been able to raise essential funds for this brilliant cause. Tŷ Hafan provides a much-needed source of strength and support to families across the country. The charity gives children with life-limiting conditions and their families comfort during difficult times as well as opportunities to make happy memories that they can treasure forever,” said Alison Vickers, Managing Partner at Bevan & Buckland Chartered Accountants.

The golf day saw eight teams compete, including Bevan & Buckland, Nolan UPVC Ltd, Compare Insurance Ltd, Tŷ Hafan Dads, HSBC, CPR Global Tech Ltd, Infinity Document Solutions, and Peter Lynn & Partners, for a range of coveted awards. Three former Welsh rugby internationals participated on the day, namely Bleddyn Taylor and former captains Bleddyn Bowen and Robert Jones.

There could only be one winner however. The overall winner of Bevan & Buckland’s golf day was Infinity Document Solutions. Infinity Document Solutions’ Bleddyn Bowen also won the Closest to Pin award at the fourth hole, whilst the award for Closest to Pin x 2 was Compare Insurance’s Adam Williams. HSBC’s Ian Grove won the accolade for Long Drive. This wasn’t the only win for HSBC, Simon Stevenson was announced as raffle winner.

“We would like to thank everyone who joined us for our golf day event. It was fantastic to see a number of our clients and other organisations attend and raise money for the children’s hospice. I am pleased to report that as well as raising funds for Tŷ Hafan, everyone enjoyed the event and thankfully the weather was kind to all participants,” concluded Alison.
